For anyone who doesn’t know about Kate and Nom. The start and the beginning of how i made these two charcters how they came into form.
Now, i used to do commissions for this user on DA. He never drew for himself, he always asked people to draw things for him. Now….please take a good look at this “Original character” Of his http://levioleur.deviantart.com/favourites/46129457?offset=48#/d3f9bi0 . Look through his commissions he has more then one of this character being drawn.
Usually i’d just ignore it…But the things is because this kid is wacked on cash. He pays hundreds of people to commission for him. Meaning people check out his page through all these people he’s commissioning, meaning people are seeing his “original” art and thinking its his own.
Call me paranoid but, i feel like he’s kinda just taken years of my character concept and development and just kinda….spat it in my face. And i kinda wanna cry. My arts never been very popular, but none the less in the future Kate and Nom were going to be my icons, my characters that i was going to use for alot of things. Popular or not…theres no right.
Besides he now commissions his characters in very inappropriate situations. And he’s getting views for this. He gets views for his commissions on other peoples art. That….thats not right. It just kinda wanna makes me sick….

I have been getting a lot of random draw-me requests lately. I declined them all saying I only draw for pay for people who aren’t personal friends. But this person contacted me saying she’d do anything for me to draw her with some water pokemon. Naturally I figured anything included being paid. I told her she could commission me; she didn’t know what it was so I explained it to her. This was her response to my explanation that it’s draw for pay. I honestly felt pretty damn butthurt from the comment, and the fact she appears to have no respect for artists by looking for freebies. I can understand requesting free art out of fandom seeing as more than just one person would completely enjoy the image (and most of the time I do decline those, too). But I am not obligated to draw someone I don’t know/like. Requesters should be wary of this fact.
I hear ya bro :( Don’t they ever think that you have things you need to pay for as well? Thus is why you do commissions. ZillaSenetai is an amazing artist and im sad how some people don’t recognize you as such because you don’t glorify all this fan art at peoples faces. It kinda saddens me how i see people who are hard at work placing passion in their art getting less recognized then some person who just draw poorly done shipping from a well known anime/ manga/ cartoon. I’m totally fine with non canon shipping’s/fanart but…it gets a bit obsessive. Theres alot of really great artists who draw fanart and i totally support them but alot of people forget there’s actual artists on DA, and its not just some site you can go for your fanart obsession. And hey! Artists have bills to pay to! We’re humans just like the rest of you :(
